The building in which Hotel Shamon is located is called Villa Dageraad and has been a protected heritage site since 1994.
Originally designed as a private residence, the villa was built around 1910. About 80 years later, the villa was converted into Hotel Shamon with 10 unique rooms. The room names were all given the name of an important artist from the Art Nouveau period: such as Paul Cauchie, Gustav Klimt, Henry Vandevelde, ... The story goes that these artists actually meant something to the villa...
Since July 2017, this beautiful hotel came into our hands. We are a young and dynamic couple, and love to welcome and pamper you with open arms!

Located in the heart of the Meetjesland region, Eeklo has a strategic location, ideal for both tourists and business travellers.
The hotel is a short distance from the main motorways, providing easy access and perfect connections to the art cities of Ghent and Bruges, each less than a 30-minute drive away, and the North Sea is also at a similar distance. Visit the provincial domain Het Leen with its beautiful arboretum 500m from the hotel, discover the town hall with belfry (a UNESCO world heritage site) in Eeklo or start your exploration at the Huysmanhoeve or Drongengoedhoeve.
With 790 kilometres of cycling nodes, walking networks through forests and creeks, and iconic sights such as Poeke Castle, the Canada Museum and the Maldegem Steam Centre, the region offers a rich array of active and cultural excursions. The hotel is located at several cycling and hiking nodes.

Very nice location for an overnight stay with genuinely friendly managers. The art nouveau building and furnishings capture the imagination. Room and breakfast were 'impeccable'. Highly recommended and we will probably return.
Super 2-day stay at Boutique Hotel Shamon. It is a fantastically beautiful historic property. Very friendly, pleasant & helpful hosts (Windy & Thomas). The rooms were picture-perfect and the breakfast was top notch! Highly recommended! By the way, the Meetjesland is also a very beautiful area for cycling. We were pleasantly surprised.
